MARTA SINGAPORE
by Barbara Melega
This is a ballad made up of couplets whose rhyme words are all accented on the last syllable. Ramona the beast, known as Ramon, falls in love with Marta Singapore. Marta's fathers mistaken interference puts them in the middle of a police raid that degenerates into a colossal riot. Marta's lover, Stan, and a bartender, who is also in love with her, get mixed up in it all too. The story ends with a final that is tragic and romantic at the same time. The filming of Marta Singapore covers the span of five days in one of the streets of an area of oldtime Rome, Borgo Pio.
