Lang Kimsum is the manager and first actress of an important theater company specializing in Cantonese opera. The decision to hire David Lam, a young man educated in the West, as the new director unleashes jealousies and clashes among the actors. Besides this, Lang has to deal with her husband, Chan, who wants to move to Australia with their family. Mimi, the young daughter that Lang had from a former relationship, has fallen in love with Jojo, a waitress. Lang is worried at first, but ends up accepting the love between the two young women. Ip Yuksheung, a young actress who has just joined the company, and her boyfriend Chun make up a new problem that Lang has to solve.

Shu Kei

Shu Kei (Hong Kong, 1956) began to write screenplays as a university student. He joined Golden Harvest in 1979 as a screenwriter and assistant director. He debuted in 1981 with Sealed with a Kiss. He worked for the Hong Kong film festival until 1984. In 1986 he founded Shu Kei's Creative Workshop, which distributes quality films. In 1990, his documentary, Sunless Days, won the OCIC award at the Berlin film festival. He has written two novels and edited the autobiography of the Chinese director, Sun Yu.
