"The film's screenplay is by Jerzy Skolimowski. Here we can find two characteristic element of his works: the figure of the protagonist, a youth who tries to bend reality to fit his dreams, and the fascination for the car. There is something in common with Le départ. In fact, the idea of Poslizg originated more or less in the period of Le départ. The director of the film, Jan Lomnicki, made many changes, however. Not only was the ending changed, but also the main characters. Lomnicki brought his sense of observation of life to the film. The film mirrors the real lives of Warsaw, people in the 1970's." "The existence of two authors endows Poslizg with a kind of vacillation that disturbs the viewer from the opening shots on. The remains of the old structure of the screenplay, which gravitate towards a film different than the one that was made, have not been absorbed and arranged in the right way in the new structure. The heavy hand of Lomnicki-director has crushed the extremely delicate construction, the work of the screenwriter, without offering anything that can compensate for it. Lomnicki lacks sensitivity for and comprehension of Skolimowski's characters, their problems and their world.
