It is now 1936, the owner is dead and Felipe appoints José Francisco as overseer. José Francisco conquers the beautiful and asthmatic Cruz, who has been raised like a Cinderella by Ángela. Ángela, who is engaged in scraping together one hundred pesos so that Eulalia can marry a butler, offers Cruz to Felipe at the same price. Felipe is unaware that she is engaged to José Francisco. Unfortunately, some supervisors see the young girl and the owner going out together. José Francisco learns what has happened from some songs sung in a tavern. He is on the verge of killing Felipe, when Felipe reassures him that nothing has happened between himself and Cruz. José Francisco marries Cruz and Eulalia marries her butler.
