Tin Tan is about to commit suicide near an ageold tree because he is not allowed to make his debut as a musician in a cabaret. He shoots a shot into the air and a wounded man falls from the tree. Tin Tan is terrified and escapes. He is knocked over by a car driven by an impresario who takes him home where he is looked after by the man's beautiful maid. Tin Tan pretends that he has amnesia. When a Brazilian artist comes to visit, Tin Tan is passed off as the impresario of the cabaret because the real impresario is bankrupt. Tin Tan runs up a lot of debts to put on a show; the dancers fight over him, but the maid, who was already in love with him, gets the better of her rivals. The cabaret is inaugurated, but Tin Tan has paid everybody with false cheques. He is taken to the police station where he involuntarily confesses the crime of the tree and is imprisoned. In the end it is discovered that the wounded man wanted to commit suicide and that, by chance, Tin Tan saved his life. The man now wants to give him a reward. Everything is settled.
