After overcoming the federals, General Reyes's zapatisti conquer Cholula, whose notables, fearing for their lives, meet at the house of don Carlos. When all of them are taken to the town hall, don Carlos is arrested. Beatriz, his daughter, is about to marry the North American Eduardo. Eduardo obtains a pass to go to the capital to buy Beatriz her wedding dress. Reyes courts Beatriz who repays him by slapping him and throwing an explosive at him. Reyes prevents don Carlos from being executed when he is standing before the shooting squad and leaves him free to tell his daughter that he kidnapped her mother in order to marry her. Beatriz continues to attack the general who is more in love with her than ever before. The troups have to leave Cholula in order to avoid a clash with the federals. While celebrating her marriage to Eduardo, Beatriz sees Reyez passing by with his men. She asks her father and fiancé to forgive her and runs to join him, as a soldier.
