Northern Italy. Jalal, a boy from North Africa, finds a job in the country at the house of a widow who lives with her mentally handicapped daughter. His attention is suddenly caught by a car parked in the garage. Meanwhile, the woman tries to set up a marriage for her daughter.

Giovanni Maderna
Giovanni Maderna (Milan, 1973) attends the Experimental Film Center in Rome. In 1994-95 he studied at the Film Department of the Communication Institute of the Lumière University of Lyon. In the 1996 Sacher Festival his La Place won the short-film first prize. In 1997 his Jahilia won the Bronze Sacher. He contributes to the radio program "Effetto notte", a show featuring film news, and is active in various Milanese cultural associations.
