Having realized that the recently repaired no. 133 bus is out of order, the tram drivers Caireles and Tarrajas arrive drunk at the neighbourhood Christmas party. At the party, Lupita, Tarrajas's sister makes Caireles jealous by flirting with the driver Pablo. While the controller is distracted, the tram drivers start the 133. When they reach Coyocan, the 133 is besieged by a school teacher and his students whom the drivers have to let off in a place where they are shooting a film. Lupita boards the 133. Pablo's car hits the tram. When an inspector order Caireles and Tarrajas to let people board the 133, a retired tram driver Papa Pinillos, also gets onto the tram. When Tarrajas stops the empty 133, he discovers that some profiteers are selling corn as a fertilizer. A fight breaks out. Pinillos gets back onto the 133, but he is hit and ends up at the pharmacy. The inspector decides to investigate the incident, but finds the 133 in the right place: the drivers have had time to take it back. Pinillos leaves full of indignation. Caireles and Lupita kiss.
