Never Again reconstructs one of the most tragic onthejob accidents of postwar Italy while keeping a steady balance between reporting hard news and telling history. On the morning of March 13, 1987 in the port of Ravenna, thirteen workers many of. them very young died of suffocation in the hold of the naturalgas tanker "Elisabetta Montanari". The documentary is based on the testimony of the story's protagonists the relatives of the victims, the indicted persons, the lawyers, the technicians and the people in authority as well as on interviews conducted with the present day port workers. The historical footage from the Rai archive and from the film shot by the firemen during the rescue operation alternate with images shot ten years later in the same shipyard, the site o the accident of that tragic morning.

Fausto Pullano
Fausto Pullano (Perugia, 1962) attended two professional post-graduate training courses supervised by the director Ansano Giannarelli. He received professional accreditation as programmer-director and filmmaker-producer of audiovisual productions. At the same time he began his activity as a documentary filmmaker paying special attention to social and historical topics. He worked continuously with the production house Union Comunicazione. Since 1995 he has conducted numerous workshops on audiovisual language for teachers and students in several schools in Emilia Romagna and for several professional training centers. He joined with other filmmakers in founding the group Media & Memoria, which aims to engage in projects that consciously combine history, education and a multimedia nature.
