Reza is a youth who lives in southern Iran and decides to visit some o his relatives who have moved to Teheran. On the train he meets Mrs. Nassiri, an old woman who is going to Teheran in order to take an airplane that will take her to Germany, where her daughter emigrated sixteen years before. Reza offers to accompany her to the airport by taxi. woman soon feels bad and is admitted into a hospital. The doctor explains to Reza that she needs to have a very expensive operation in order to save her life. Reza does everything he can to help Mrs. Nassiri.

Parviz Shahbazi

Parviz Shahbazi (Khorramabad, Iran, 1962) graduated with a degree in directing from IRIB College in 1987. Between the mid-1980's and the early 1990's, he directed short fiction films (including The Rope, 1990, inspired by the homonymous film by Hitchcock) and short documentaries (Kafa, 1986; Black Spring, 1991), and was an assistant to Jafar Panahi for the film Badkonak-e sefid (The White Balloon, 1995). In 1996 he debuted with the full-length fiction film Mosafere jonub (Traveler from the South), which was presented at various festivals throughout the world, winning, among others, first prize at the Tokyo Film Festival and the Jury Prize at the XV Torino Film Festival (1997). In 2000 he wrote and directed his second full-length film, Najva (Whispers).
