Melissa is an eight-year old girl who is independent and yet gets along very well with her mother, Marta. She has a friend, Saddèk, a Moroccan boy who left to work in the summer Alpine pastures with his father. One afternoon Melissa pretends that she is going to visit her grandmother and goes away by herself to look for her little friend, who she finds in a little town in the mountains. Saddèk is glad to see Melissa again, while Marta, a little worried and a little amused, follows the trail of the runaway.

Luciano Menaldino (Chiaverano, 1957) is an amateur filmmaker. Her Alla ricerca di Saddèk won the Nanni Loy award for attention to social themes at the 1999 Live Cinema Festival.
