These interviews are only a small part of the many interviews on the Spanish civil war conducted by Paolo Gobetti in his film Spagna 1936-37 (1978-81). The director Joris Ivens, combatents of POUM, like Bianca Pittoni, and of CNT, like Garcìa Oliver, recall their experiences forty years later.
"In 1976 a great part of the archive's activity was dedicted to work on the «Spanish project» (…) an exciting experience, because it allowed us to come into contact with truly exceptional people, men at the ground level, like those at the top" (Paolo Gobetti).
