Bobby Grace, a small-time drug dealer, spends his days near his girlfriend, the prostitute Lucy, in the Hell's Kitchen section of New York. One day he gets his hands on a deal that could make him a lot of money, but can't carry it through, realizing at the end that he only has one hour to scrape up the thirty thousand dollars he owes and save his life.

John-Luke Montias has studied drama at New York University. Three of his theatrical pieces have been produced on-stage, and he has appeared in two independent films. At the moment he is working on three screenplays. Bobby G. Can't Swim is his debut film as director.
