Bill is a frustrated young writer. He decides to follow people at random around the streets of London. He observes their movements and the ways they spend their days. Bill begins to think that he can extract some inspiration for the novel he is writing from the lives of these people. Thus he begins to follow the same people so that he can get to know them better. Cobb, a professional thief, notices that he is being followed. He has fun leading the writer along and ends up involving him in his robberies. Bill looks to Cobb as a friend and mentor, and even as a confessor. The two of them break into unknown people's apartments, rummage around their things, and insinuate themselves into their lives. The game slowly gets more and more dangerous.

Christopher Nolan
Christopher Nolan (London, 1970), after enrolling at the University of London to study English literature, made various 16 mm short films. In 1996 he presented the film Larceny at the Cambridge Film Festival. In 1998 he directed his first full-length film, Following, which won numerous prizes at international festivals. Two years later Memento, which was filmed in the United States, received many recognitions and an Oscar nomination. Insomnialis the remake of the homonymous Norwegian film by Erik SkjoldbjÊrg, which was presented in Toronto in 1997.
