PECKER

Pecker, an eighteen-year-old who works in a sandwich shop in Baltimore, has a passion for photography. He takes pictures of his friends and relatives, but no one thinks much of those dull portraits of daily life. But one day Rorey Wheeler, a young and pretty art dealer from New York, discovers Pecker's photographs and in no time at all makes a star out of him. The young man's success results in the world's eyes being pointed at his beloved but unusual family: his mother Joyce and her store that sells clothing for the poor; his father Jimmy and the financial problems of the bar he runs; his sisters Tina (the older one) and Chrissy (six years old). And then there his best friend Matt, with a tendency towards kleptomania, and Shelly, Pecker's girlfriend, the owner of a laundromat, obsessed with cleanliness and unaware of her pin-up-like poses. More than enough to complicate the life of a budding photographic talent.
