It is Lisa's birthday and she has decided to spend the evening at home with her dog. She will celebrate her birthday with him. But her relatives love surprises: both making them and receiving them…
"Some people don't like the movie as it being to mainstream like. They argue that there are too many hollywood elements and cliches in it. I never wanted to invent a new style but to play with different already existing ones. The project has been my 2nd year practice and I never would have assumed that people liked it, which of course makes me, as a filmmaker, feel pretty good, since it should be the filmmaker's 1st goal: to get the audience attention (Philipp Kadelbach).

Philipp Kadelbach
Philipp Kadelbach(Frankfurt, 1974) after receiving his degree, spent one year working at a television station in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he also attended the local school of film directing. In 1995, he joined the advertising agency Neue Sentimental Film in Frankfurt, where he is presently working as head of Avid digital editing. In 1996 he began studying at the cinematographic academy of Baden-Württemberg; Platonische Liebe is his final project for the second year at the academy.
