Three "ex-boys" from the Torino juvenile team talk about the emotional climate of those last four games of the championship when they were called upon to take the field in the place of the champions who had died. Three old "maroon hearts" remember the images of the working-class city overcome by their grief for the Great Torino team…

"There is an old boccie club on the banks of the Po where the old Torino soccer players sometimes get together. I met the protagonists of my story by chance. I don't know anything much about soccer, but their way of talking about it and living through it won me over. Their stories made me find out about a kind of soccer that was made up of participation, commitment, and passion. I took note of all this with my telecamera" (Silvia Innocenzi).
