A young woman comes to the Experimental Center for her admissions exam for the acting course, but to her amazement the girl finds only nuts and weirdoes at the School. In reality, without her knowing it, she is the protagonist of a video that is taking her picture, something in between Candid Camera and our own Truman Show.
"We had some fun with the student actors at the National Film School constructing characters with strong individual traits. Each student was called on to come up with a character, a way of being that was very distinct. Above all, the aim of the roughly two-week-long workshop was the following: to encourage this colorful group of future actors not to be ashamed of their personal idiosyncrasies, of the funny sides of themselves those features that are weird or excessive. All too often these are the types of things that acting schools teach actors to hide, perhaps under the armor of the perfect diction or standard intonation of a professional actor. Once I collected the students' ideas, t urges, and proposals, yours truly had to go through some contortions to distribute fourteen personalities, each with the same weight, within the scope of a little story to be narrated in twenty minutes. In this case, we were inspired, jokingly, by that natural Kafkaesque spirit that emanates every academic institution" (Paolo Virzì).

Paolo Virzì
Paolo Virzì (Livorno, 1964) has been interested in theater, politics, and romance literature. He quit the university in 1986 to enroll in the Experimental Film Center, where he earned a diploma in screenwriting in 1987. He then worked on the drafting of numerous scripts for film and television before he could convince himself to establish himself as a director.
