These are three commercials about AIDS made from the ideas of young African students who were involved in the AIDS-prevention project Scénarios du Sahel. 13,000 children from Senegal, Mali, and Burkina Faso participated in the project defining the topics of the commercials. As in Afrique, mon Afrique, Ouédraogo works within genres and with his humor which serve as a way of defining these stories, which are not just didactic. In Le Guerrier a horseman with a rifle leaves a village in order to go after AIDS. This western story is told in a series of sublime fragments. We follow the adventures of the "warrior" and his encounter with a young woman who teaches him what he should do to fight the disease and how he should do it: she puts a condom on the barrel of his rifle. La Boutique and Pour une fois are commercials made with fast-paced comedy, and work on close-up shots of faces. In La Boutique a girl does not want to make love because her boyfriend had forgotten condoms. The boy goes to a store to buy them, but loses too much time. Meanwhile, she gets fed up and goes away. The situation at the beginning of Pour une fois is identical, but the man does everything he can not to waste precious time and to return from the country as quickly as possible, racing by bicycle like a character in a splendid silent film.

Idrissa Ouédraogo
Idrissa Ouédraogo was born in Banfora, Burkina Faso in 1954. He graduated from the African Film Studies Institute in Ouagadougou. He then worked in the governing board of the Film Production of Burkino Faso in 1981. He remained for a period in Kiev. In 1985 he graduated from IDHEC in Paris. He then received a degree in film studies at the University of Paris at the Sorbonne.
