A documentary on Stanley Kubrick. The shooting was begun two years ago on the occasion of the Golden Lion for a career awarded to Kubrick at the 1997 Venice Film Festival. In effect, Stanley and Us is the story of three young men - Mauro, Stefano and Federico who are in quest of an idea for an "impossible" documentary on the American director. The research is made up of interviews of about 25 people, including co-workers, friends, and relatives of the master director, for a total of about 60 hours of footage.
"How easy it was to image the road that lead us to winning over the trust of the Kubrick family. We took off from only some uncertain contact with a few of his Italian co-workers. Then the road was marked with defeats and closed doors. However, interview after interview, the trust of the «Kubrick fortress» was being won as we obtained the testimony of co-workers who were closser and closer to him. After countless tries, a fax opened the doors of Warner Brothers, London, for us. From that moment on, everything precipitated. within only two days we met Leon Vitali, Jan Harlan, Dominic Harlan and Kubrick's wife, Christiane, at their house" (Federico Greco, Mauro Di Flaviano, Stefano Landini).

Mauro Di Flaviano
Mauro Di Flaviano graduated as a film and television technician from the R. Rossellini State Institute. He also works as a director of commercials and industrial films.

Federico Greco
Federico Greco has worked since 1995 for various film journals. Since 1997 he has worked as the artistic director of the international short-film festival, Vedo Corto, now in its third edition. From 1991 to 1997 he worked freelance as a Betacam camera person for various local and national broadcasters.

Stefano Landini
Stefano Landini graduated from the Experimental Film Center in 1990. He is a director of short documentary and fiction films in celluloid and video.
