Antonio Bay, California. The coastal town is about to celebrate its centenary. Stevie Wayne, from his microphone at radio KAB, warns his listeners that a dense fog bank is approaching the town. Strange things begin to happen. Offshore, a shipwreck full of ghosts appears. These are the ghosts of lepers who had been forced to go down with their ship by the town's elders, who wanted to take possession of their holdings.

Biography

film director

John Carpenter

(Carthage, New York, 1948) debuted in 1974 with the science fiction film Dark Star and next made three low budget films, Assault on Precint 13 (1976), Halloween (1978) and The Fog (1980), which made him one of the best-known directors of American New Horror. In 1981 he directed Escape from New York and the following year The Thing continuing his study of horror movies and science fiction. He confirms his status among the genre’s best with subsequent works such as Vampires (1987), In the Mouth of Madness (1994), and Ghosts of Mars (2001). Between 2005 and 2006 he directed two episodes of the TV series Masters Of Horror. His last movie is The Ward (2010). In 1999, Torino Film Festival dedicated a complete retrospective to his opus.
