John Nada, a worker who has just moved to Los Angeles, discovers by wearing a strange pair of dark sunglasses that many of the people are actually aliens who are controlling the city's inhabitants by means of subliminal messages. Even though he is being chased by the police, John manages to investigate the occurances and, with the help of his friend Frank, enters the cove of the extraterrestials.

John Carpenter

(Carthage, New York, 1948) debuted in 1974 with the science fiction film Dark Star and next made three low budget films, Assault on Precint 13 (1976), Halloween (1978) and The Fog (1980), which made him one of the best-known directors of American New Horror. In 1981 he directed Escape from New York and the following year The Thing continuing his study of horror movies and science fiction. He confirms his status among the genre’s best with subsequent works such as Vampires (1987), In the Mouth of Madness (1994), and Ghosts of Mars (2001). Between 2005 and 2006 he directed two episodes of the TV series Masters Of Horror. His last movie is The Ward (2010). In 1999, Torino Film Festival dedicated a complete retrospective to his opus.
