Jacques carries the weight of a broken-off love affair and of a military uniform. He is struck by the loneliness and the folly of a mortal duel. Jacques flees through the mountains. There are the calm of the woods and the sound of nature and of the light wind. There is an old section of a town - immaculate and outside of time. There is the face of a young woman, her eyes, her hand that leads him to safety. What remains is the memory of a love and the silence of the mountains.
