UNA GIORNATA MERAVIGLIOSA
by Carmelo Milone
At 7:30 a clock radio on a night table goes off. After that an unmade bed and various objects in a room are shown to us. The radio keeps on broadcasting commercials and horoscopes, but a tragic event takes place in that room.
"The idea for this short film came out of a discussion with three friends about a particular phase that our movie theaters are going through. Their programming is made up of a small percentage of decent or, in some cases, exceptional films as well as a great majority of films propped up by American special effects or Italian jokes. We reflected a lot on the original idea of cinema and on the idealization of time and space. Therefore I aimed to make this short film by limiting myself to using the long-distance lens to observe objects that are only apparently lifeless" (Carmelo Milone).
