UNA VITA NON VIOLENTA

Gianluca comes back home from his military service the day that his mother is being evicted from the house where she has lived for over thirty years. He is unemployed, and not even his friends help him. He comes across a fisherman at the mouth of the Tiber who finds him a house - a squatter's hut near the sea. The fisherman involves him in a robbery, but Gianluca backs off. He falls in love with a bartender, an immigrant woman whom he runs into later working the streets as a prostitute. The bulldozers come and knock down the hut and Gianluca's mother ends up in a shelter. Gianluca finds work as a garbage man. The accomplices in the robbery get back at him and send him to the hospital.
