While riding his scooter, a university student is attacked and kidnapped by a group of men who force him into their car. The criminals, though, aren't after ransom, they just want to have fun. At first the victim is frightened, but after a while he is taken with his kidnappers, whose life strikes him as fascinating. A tragic accident suddenly changes the course of events.

Watanabe Kazushi
Watanabe Kazushi was born in Nagoya in 1976. He began making his first short films while still in high school. At nineteen years of age he shot the first 8mm version of 19, which won second prize at the Pia Film Festival in Tokyo. His career continues as actor, screenwriter, director and author of manga comic books. The cartoon version of 19, which was published this year, has also won a prize.
