BERLINO: IL GRANDE VUOTO

BERLIN: THE BIG EMPTINESS
by Vincenzo Bugno
Country: Italy, Germany
Year: 2000
Duration: 52'

A television reporter returns to Berlin, where he had spent several years before the fall of the wall. He has to shoot a report on the fiftieth Berlinale. In this way he rediscovers this place that was once full of romanticism but now is only a succession of reconstructed, concrete spaces - Berlin, or the city of emptiness.

"Berlino: il grande vuoto is an 'essay'. A documentary. A bare fiction. In search of images and hidden words" (Vincenzo Bugno).
