CE NE RICORDEREMO, DI QUESTO PIANETA

THIS PLANET - WE'LL BE REMEMBERING IT
by Salvo Cuccia
Country: Italy
Year: 2000
Duration: 54'

A voyage through the places of Leonardo Sciascia's life in the company of his memories. The Sicilian writer recites his own words off camera. These are taken from his writings and interviews in order to re-evoke events, situations, and conversation partners. We listen to the thoughts and voices of Elvira Sellerio, Marco Pannella, Matteo Collura, Giancarlo Caselli, and Adriano Sofri. The protagonists of the "Council of Egypt" appear, brought back to life. They are followed by Candido and Don Antonio and his beloved Sicilia.

"The epitaph that Sciascia chose for his tombstone is: 'this planet - we'll be remembering it.' If this is not a sign of the religious spirit, it is certainly one of the humility of reason and the force of reason" (Salvo Cuccia).
