ENGLISH GOODBYE

ENGLISH GOODBYE
by Andy Heathcote
Country: UK
Year: 1999
Duration: 12'

An adolescent boy is on the run with his sister, she has Downs Syndrome. Marooned in a provincial train station they meet an unlikely ally. As their destinies cross they discover there is more to running away than an unspoken goodbye.

"I wanted to make a film where all the people are trying to escape but for one reason or another it goes all wrong. They do get what they want in the end but in a strange sort of way, they have had to pay a higher price or it was not so easy as they may have thought" (Andy Heathcote).
