Nakamura, an old man, is driving back to his hometown, Hokkaido. On the trip he meets Akemi, a young woman whose boyfriend has just left her in the aftermath of a fight. The two continue the trip together and slowly get to know each other. Shizuko, a middle-aged woman, then ends up joining them. She is fleeing with a considerable sum of money. Goh is with her, an ex-cop who tries to commit suicide several times.

Mito Hineki

Mito Hineki (1969) directed his first 8mm feature film in 1993. In 1996 he directed a 16mm short film. Homesick is an independent production made while Hineki was otherwise working as an assistant director.
