This documentary about naïf painting was filmed in the lower Po River valley. The director, who has already treated this subject in earlier productions in the 1960's, returns to the location to tell of painters like Antonio Ligabue, Bruno Rovesti, Udo Toniato, Elena Guastalla, Adele Casoli, Serafino Valla, Vandino Daolio, Giancarlo Gandini and Rina Bittasi. During the filming, the author collected portraits of unusual, picaresque, mysterious and sometimes extraordinary people.

Raffaele Andreassi
Raffaele Andreassi has been a collaborator since 1948 for many national newspapers including "Momento Sera" and "Il Giornale di Sicilia". He has also published many books of poetry. He has made numerous programs for RAI in Italy, Europe and the United States. His filmography includes cinematographic and television reports, fiction movies and over two hundred sociological and artistic documentaries. He was also artistic director of Audiovisivi Mondadori.
