Goretta and Tanner collaborated on their own inimitable souvenir of Piccadilly Circus while they were working at the British Film Institute. Their intention was to create what Vigo described as a "point de vue documenté". For this the directors thread together the disparate images of one Saturday night out as the crowds flock to the landmark for entertainment of one sort or another. It became later one of the references for the Free Cinema movement.
