This is portrait of Lorenzo, a Florentine artist who has been repeating the creation of the same work of art for more than twenty years: a pliant and pointed blue-yellow-red acrylic "thread." Like a modern Don Quixote, Lorenzo, a character on the edge of the official art world, maintains his ideas with stubbornness and conviction. He repeats his gestures, speeches, and actions on the street before a public made up of curious or indifferent passers-by. It is with a "thread" that Lorenzo shares a life, a family, and the spaces of his own home.

"Who has lost the thread? Who is responsible for his own getting lost? Was it lost at the crossroads where the infantile nature of people thirty or more meets the pollution of Disney in Florence? Did the producer's boyfriend or the film's own protagonist lose the thread with the almost sexual enjoyment of his own objectification? Or, what's more, did the director lose the thread when he could not retell the end of the film, C'eravamo tanto amati?" (Jonathan Nossiter).
