Osuman and Mohammed are two Ghanese youths who are passionate about soccer. They play for Intermillas, a team from Acera, and dream of having a future as champions. They are about to move to Italy for a period of try-outs with Sampdoria. They are going through their last days in Ghana with two minds. On they one hand, they are afraid to leave their families and find themselves alone in a continent that they do not know with a different climate, culture, and religion. On the other hand, they are happy about the chance they have of changing their lives. The trainer Carlo Guelfo is to accompany them to Genoa. He is a one-of-a-kind talent scout for various soccer teams with an innate fatherly instinct.
"A voyage and three voyagers forced to get to know each other, to measure themselves up against each other, and to help each other across the distance that divides Africa from Europe and across the distance that separates dreams and the reality of things" (Alessandro Angelini).
