In a desolate, arid area, without houses, animals or vegetation, a man is walking in the full sun as he looks for a place to rest. When he finds a parched tree trunk that casts a bit of a shadow, he starts to sit down but another man in his same situation comes along. The two try in vain to share the shade. In the meantime, a cockroach has its own personal adventure…

Nicolas Tuozzo
Nicolas Tuozzo (Buenos Aires, 1970) moved to Madrid in 1996, where he studied at the Complutense University. After following a course in London at the Monty Python school, he returned to Argentina, where he began working as an assistant director. One of the films he worked on was Un Lugar en el Mundo by Adolfo Aristarain. He later founded a small production house which works both in cinema and television. La Sombra is his second short film, and won first prize at the Festival Cine Independiente in Buenos Aires. He is now working on his debut full-length film.
