A quadriplegic criminal, a temptress in a wheelchair, an arteriosclerotic truck driver, a hypo-visual joker and a spastic elf. Plus other handicapped people and capricious bosses and cynical objectors and sexy volunteers. This is the Ismaele community. Matteo is called up by the Ministry and ends up there, and despite himselfhe passes an easy-going and reckless year with the least of the Earth, excluded by the world and forgotten by God: the conscientious objectors.
"It was nice working on a film that needed to be made. By chance I met up with them, when the State asked me to fulfill my draft obligations in an exceptional way, by sharing the life of people who are truly out of the ordinary, for one year. Someone had to talk about that world. And to do it by telling how that world really is, forgetting the stereotypes, the piety, and the ready-for-use interpretations, to which that world by definition lends itself" (L. Vendruscolo).

Luca Vendruscolo
i>Luca Vendruscolo (Udine, 1966), after his first experiences in theater, moved to Rome to study cinema. In 1991 he graduated from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia. He worked on various fiction screenplays and documentaries for cinema and television. Since 1996, the screenplay of Piovono Mucche has won the Premio Solinas, the prize for best screenplay from the Dipartimento dello Spettacolo, and participation at the international workshop ...quinoxe.
