SATIN RED
Lilia is a woman who lives in Tunis alone with her adolescent daughter, Salma. She lost her husband many years before and has to get by entirely on her own. Because of a series of coincidences and to protect her daughter, who she believes is in danger, the woman goes to a nightclub, which both fascinates and frightens her. Lilia discovers the world of dancing, music and pleasure. She ends up becoming a ballerina in the club.
"Maybe this film is about time passing, or about women's changeable character. Lilia, the widowed mother, with all her prejudices about life, discovers her own body, she confronts people and a world that to her seems unhealthy and immoral: the world of cabaret" (R. Amari).
