In southern Sri Lanka, a woman dressed like a man works as a mechanic and is married to another woman. After being involved in an accident, she has a medical examination and the doctor discovers her secret. The doctor decides to keep quiet about the discovery so he can later sexually blackmail her. In this way, the girl ends up going frequently to his clinic. A gay colleague at the garage thinks a homosexual relationship has sprung up between the two and begins to court the girl (who he thinks is a man). The woman finds herself between a rock and a hard place. When the doctor tells the garage owner the truth, things take a turn for the worse...

Asoka Handagama
Asoka Handagama (1962) studied mathematics at the University of Kelaniya and worked at the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, which sent him to study economics in England. When he returned home in 1995, he married the actress Anoma Janadari, the star of Tani Tatuwen Piyabanna. His artistic career began in the theater, for which he wrote and directed various plays with a strong underlying social and political current. In 1994 he directed Dunhidda Addara (Near Dunhinda Falls), a highly successful television series. At the same time, he debuted in cinema with Chanda Kinnarie (Moon Lady, 1994), a hyper-realistic film which won numerous prizes in his homeland. He continued his work two years later with Moon Hunt and, in 2000, with This Is My Moon. This last work generated much interest at festivals and was distributed in France, where the critics of "Cahiers du Cinéma" wrote enthusiastically about it.
