A trip to Valparaiso, Chile, a city perched on the
jagged hillsides that make life a constant battle with nature. The various
neighborhoods are connected by ramps, stairways, elevators, and funiculars. The
poorer inhabitants, at the top of the hillsides, only occasionally have water to
drink and wash with. Life goes on between dances organized by the local
communities, a traveling circus, and the children who feed the sea lions in the
port.
