Bologna Centrale was originally made for the radio, it is a sort of
filmed diary, a retrospective autobiography, a sentimental documentary
about Italy and its political history during the late 1970's, when
terrorism was rampant. The film is a present-day report: a chronicle of
images and sounds that were recorded in the places of the past.
"People write, make videos, go to ballet performances, to the theater,
they listen to music, etc. But nowadays I think it's impossible to
communicate exclusively 'through cinema', 'through literature' etc. Our
epoch has this fascinating aspect: it is made of quotes, recycling,
leaps in space and time; it is interdisciplinary" (V. Dieutre).
