This video recalls the problem of clandestine immigrants' "journeys of hope" confronted with the impossibility to react of the locals and with the indifference of the ones who look at this phenomenon without doing anything. In the mirror of a blue sea, there is a fat man swimming; this points out the slow motion of his movements. The atmosphere is surrounded by an obsessive and hypnotizing sound. The apparent initial lyricism, offered by the suggestive colour of the sea, is due to be interrupted, to be broken by the incursion of the sequence of real images of what is left of the "sea wrecks", boats full of clandestine immigrants landed on the coast of Sicily.
