Gah-in and Doo-hee don't know each other, but they share a man and
the desire to affirm their own identity. Gah-in, a 26-year-old Korean
student who lives in the United States, has an affair with Jun, a
married man. He awakens a sense of guilt in her, which is increased by
the anorexia that is devouring her. Too proud to feel sorry for herself,
she fights against depression. Jun's wife, Doo-hee, discovers she is
pregnant after cheating on her husband. She returns to Korea and is
forced to make an urgent and difficult decision which prevents her from
truly realizing her own desire for rebirth. Through these bodies that
bear the signs of pain and trauma, Gina Kim draws a bleak portrait of
the women and casts a cruel light on human relationships and the search
for an identity.
