This work is the result of a workshop that took place in the Fall of 2002 for Professor Andrea Martini's course in Film History and Critic.

"Having to "initiate" art or film directing to twenty-year-old people, who have no knowledge of this profession, I had to start somewhere. And I thought that - after digital, divucam, final cuts and, above all, after a total deregulation of TV language - writing with images is not a real problem anymore. One can take, shoot, make a mistake, shoot again, edit and sooner of later understands how it works. It is much more difficult for these people to get the chance (and the emotion) to see, at short distance, a great actress while she is working. That's why I asked my friend Marina Confalone to spend a couple of days with us and to show us some of her acting practice. Marina has chosen a short text by Annibale Ruccello, and with a camera Sony 100, I have documented her performance. A nice text, a great actress and an excuse for a short workshop. That's all". (G. Bertolucci)
