Harase Kyoko is known for her acting roles in a series of
horror films. The woman, who is expecting her boyfriend Masashi's child, doesn't
want to remembered as the queen of horror films and is thinking about abandoning
her career to dedicate herself to her family. In the meantime, she accepts an
invitation to appear as a guest star on a TV series about the paranormal, in an
episode that takes place inside a house where years before the body of a
housewife (Saeki Kayako) had been found. She had been assassinated by her
husband Takeo, who was later found dead due to mysterious causes in a nearby
street. The couple's son had disappeared without leaving a trace.
Everything
seems normal inside the apartment, but Megumi, the makeup artist, senses the
menacing presences of Takeo and Kayako. A short while later, Kyoko and her
boyfriend are involved in a car accident. Masashi dies, and the woman is
convinced she has lost her baby.

Takashi Shimizu
Shimizu Takashi (Maebashi, 1972). He studied at Eiga Bigakk?, Tokyo's school of cinema, where some of the most important exponents of contemporary Japanese cinema teach. One of these teachers, Kurosawa Kiyoshi, noticed Shimizu's talent and launched him as the director of various episodes of horror series like Gakk? no kaidan and Shin rei bideo. In 2001 he directed his first full-length film, Tomie: Re-birth, the third chapter of a saga based on the mangas of Ito Junji, which many believe to be the best of the entire series. Success arrived in 2002 with Ju-on, a horror film with artistic consultants of the caliber of Kurosawa and Takahashi Hiroshi. It is the remake of a homonymous, two-episode TV series, which Shimizu himself directed in 2000.
