Nine stories, from north to south, a symbolic journey without geographical boundaries, in order to tell the reality of a flexible work. A scary reality because of hard timing and rhythms, or the fear that flexibility would turn into precariousness. The real characters are them, the flexible workers and their tales of daily life: a married couple, a Catholic worker, a 24-year-old waitress, a young psychologist, an electronic engineer, a CEO, a FIAT worker. As the red thread that ties all these stories together, there are the incursions of Antonio Albanese that performs some parts of Diario postumo di un lavoratore flessibile, written by Luciano Gallino.

"The intention I had was precise: I wanted to make a documentary, which had to be on the narrative side and not an inquiry; I wanted to tell individual stories that would represent a mirror where other similar stories could reflect. I have tried to discover and film people whose faces, stories and consciousness could communicate real emotions and not only a deeper understanding of economic logics" (S. Consiglio).
