A
butcher has already been brought to his knees by the mad cow crisis, and becomes
even more desperate when he learns that his son is sick. But some illnesses help
heal other wounds.
"The film is constructed upon the communication
between a father and his son. Each one is hiding a part of himself from the
other. The father doesn't let his son know about the financial problems of his
butcher shop, which have been caused by the mad cow disease. The son hides from
his father the fact that he has hepatitis C. The two make projects about the
other's life and, through a lack of communication, are wrong about their future"
(B. Deville).
