When we returned from a trip to Russia in 1990, armed with our Super8
cameras, Yann Beauvais and myself decided to share our images and make a
four-handed film. The result is a twin screen projection using our Super8
footage mixed in with archival material from the 60s and 80s and also a
sprinkling of Russian classic such as Vertov and Einstein. The soundtrack is
composed of various elements: street recordings, Russian music of all kinds, and
excerpts of Lenin speeches.

Vivian Ostrovsky born in New York, has studied in Rio de Janeiro and is graduated at Sorbonne, Paris, in Psychology and Film Studies
Yann Beauvais
Yann Beauvais (Paris, 1953) made over twenty experimental films. She works often with multiple screen and installations, has a strong interest in language and films.
