The day when Palermo reached the
First Division. The documentary is about the making of the celebration
after waiting for 32 years and about the anxieties that such event
produces in the collective consciousness, a factor of sublimination and
personal revenge. A film about soccer without soccer as leading role.
Fans and common people take over the scene and make a show about their
passion.
"Can a soccer match upset the emotions of an entire city? Disbelieving,
we have witnessed, day after day, a slow and progressive closing on a
collective mass madness and excitement. We decided to describe the
D-day, from dawn to the first after-match. There are no protagonists,
but only a whole city, Palermo, as an endless repetition of loving and
patriotic gestures. Go Palermo, forever!" (M. Battaglia, G. Donati, L.
Schimmenti, A. Zulini)
