Auoniròn - The Story of Piero Queen

Auoniròn - The Story of Piero Queen

Country: Italy
Year: 2004
Duration: 15

Piero is a 24-year-old boy from Manduria, a small town in the province of Taranto. Back from a 2 year-long military service in Bosnia, he decides to have his dream come true, regardless of people's skepticism: he wants to show the world the emotions he gets listening to his favorite group: the Queen. Piero has grown a moustache like Freddie Mercury and has founded a cover band, the WhiteQueen, and plays in many venues of his town.

"Piero is a fan of the English pop band and lives in a small town in the South of Italy. The theme of the film is the cultural relationship between the center and the outskirts, the capillarity and the influence of this pop culture in the real world. Making a film about Piero, we celebrate the funny choice of a man, but we do it trying to stick to his universe. We hope to succeed in representing at its best this small story as a crossing of greater and more complex tendencies." (L. Filotico)
