Following the producing process in a window factory, this industrial video is
focused on the workers met by the camera during this process. Short and intense
portraits revealed by details (faces, transportation lines, buttons, eyes,
blades, hands) that tell the daily relationship between man and machine. A
musical itinerary through working time and production cycles, a soundtrack for
mechanical variations, where the sounds of the factory, mixed, repeated and put
on music, compose a working symphony at the assembly line.
"To make this film we have chosen an editing method as an industrial assembly
line: a kind of shared direction. After shooting the film, the editor has built
an harmonic section, putting all the images together following rhythmical loops.
Then the pre-editing has passed through the hands of the composer who has
written the soundtrack. Finally, the editing process has been finalized on the
music." (G. Giommi)
